During the month of Adi - on the 18th day, during the midday pooja after a dip in the Holy river Cauvery, the dhandum (the long stick) of Karuppannaswamy would stand automatically erect and at that time Garuda would go round in the sky. At this instance, the devotees would get excited and shout Lord Govinda’s name and pray.

The poojas are done with much hardship from the income of land belonging to the temple and the contributions by the devotees.
